This is Halloween/ Club 33? My B-day

Fall is just my favorite time of year, because we get all the Best Holidays crammed into four months which includes my birthday! Oh Yeah! Last year my b-day seems to last 1 month..because every body makes up for missing on Thanksgiving to Christmas time.

I wish for this year..of course is a job, but I have to get applying, i prefer by heand sometimes internet is too much of a distraction. I'm supposed be taking a class on Resumes soon..but I have no idea when the next session will but it's called D.E.O. (which means God in Latin) Dignity Employment opportunities and is taught by one of my neighbors, a business consultant. HE started the class to help us ease back in the job market for people who have been out of work for a while like me. To helps us fill learn the ropes of applications and resumes...which frankly baffles me..and probably you too.

I also wish to go to DisneyLand before my AP expires and actually buy something frivoulous or maybe even supersculpy to do some sculps or ornaments. I' like a nice winter Jacket. I also would like to see some movies with my movie cards. I would love to be able to drive a car of my own someday..I like a jeep or minicooper. I'd be happy with any car as long as it runs and doesn't break down alot. I'd especially learn how to take care of it and do basic repairs and tirechanges! My mom takes care of a big Rig, why can't I take care of a car.

This year I got a new comp from my friends and put it together..mostly because I hand the tiniest hands. I'm doing this year's Halloween party and we are doing supervillians for Dr. Horrible!! My costume didn't even cost me anything Igot all my peices donated from the clothing bank I work for! One day I'll add costume designer to my resume. I make the most ingenious costumes, for cheap, and they really look awesome!! My mother though I do give her credit over the years for sewing the hard parts. I'm better at using a needle and thread..the machine is still a bit fast for me. One year she made me a ninja costume..no more princess dresses for me LOL.

Oh My aunt went to a speaking engagement through her old alma Matter and won a raffle to get into club 33 where various Disney execs told their stories, she bought everyone club 33 mugs. Which was ultra cool..because this year is my 33rd b-day! THat would a cool b-day party . I think my Halloween party will be my party this year though. Usually my mom and I share it. I would still wish I could have my boyfriend with me and go to a movie. I'll be patient...but Will this year be better than the Last..last year was awesome , the only bad part was I broken up with my boyfriend at the time, but this year has so far been better since we got back together.

Keeping busy in the "Great Recession"

I am Still alive and kicking...not yet a zombie...although last weeknd I dreamed I was in the hospital on a caffiene glucose drip. Too much sweet tea. I used it to keep me up to finish my projects. I have seen the end of two projects this week finally, the Comic Con Challenge and The Animal songbook! Next projects now have a name: Cookbook: The Hand Me Down Cookbook and our Independent Game Project: Kuromaku (which has a new Top Secret Title so far.



Rush:

My Family Heritage Cookbook: AKA The Hand me Down Family Cookbook!!
Payment: Paid, Supplies delivered, printer set up: Paid Work will now commence.
My phase: perimeters and planning: 30-35 pages, 60 books to produce total.
Phase: Supplies delivered, Printer delivered and ready to begin printing after planning and production are finished by Nov. 15th) Thanksgiving at the latest.
Deadline: In order to get it self-published / printed: October 17 - Nov. 15th.
Deadline for Christmas delivery: First week of December.

New Project: Door Mural for MADA house. I've done doors before luckily during my Theatre internships thanks Bruce, Linda and Especially Tammy and Chris for MADA.

Facebook, Kaoru Mori Manga Demo, Project Update

I don't have a facebook or Myspace account, because that's what I use DA for. :) Although I just wish I could have my own skin and not do premium. I hate this sage green :(, background. I wouldn't mind black like on GA. Also facebook is having privacy snafoo's with congress last time I heard. My whole family is on it already. One, I have a generic name, so I prefer my pen name or screen name to distinguish me. Two, I'm looking for employment right now and I want to keep my E-image clean, which I do any way. One day I will have an artsite, but I want to focus on building up my skills, brand etc. I'm still deciding on it. four: I don't like associating with people who just oggle photos and hit on girls. I'm not a teenager to so it isn't the nexus of my world. I like intelligent conversation, criticisms and comments , and making friends. That's why I like it on here and GA. 5) I feel spread out enough with 3 blogs, 3 art galleries, 1 portfolio site, and on in online games where I play multiple characters. 6) do I have the time? INternet time eats up too much of my time that I could be drawing or doing chores.

ONe of my Fave Manga Artists recently Is Kaoru Mori , Manga-ka of Emma, Shirley Madison and now : Otoyomegatari. All here works are extremely inked with tine details and beautiful architecture and tapestries of the Victorian Era.

I've just finished reading v.2 so far of Otoyomegatari and someone posted this on the forum of Mori-sensei demonstrating her process in a series. The site is in japanese, So I would use babelfish and not microsoft translator(horrible) to translate the url. if you don't have an inkling of reading Japanese. BUt the videos are numbered : in Sono(this)1: pencil I, Sono2:pen-iru(pen in) 2,3,4,5(in roman numerals and sono(this) 6: Tone. it also has an interview with Mori-Sensei.

I finally got to build my new computer for the Kuromaku game project. Now I can learn Maya and z-brush without hassle. My old computer just turned six and it's hardisk is full, so I'm glad my friends/Colleagues chipped in for this gift. I won't ask for anything for my b-day or Christmas, Honest!! Thanks Devon for the new hardware/ Software and thanks Gabe for the Motherboard and chip set. I'm christening my Computer the "Tomar INde" , which is my characters' language for the sacred Blue stones that record your life for judgement . They are rather like small orb shaped computers that are actually a database of people's deeds. My computer also has glowing blue LEDS and looks like something out of a newer Sci-fi movie.

I hope to finish transferring my old stuff and installing the new stuff into my new comp , bUt what to do with my old tower and monitor?

1) Salvage parts
2) Keep until it dies.

I'm leaning toward keeping my comp for personal work and keeping the other for work purposes.


I'm going to be learning 3d this year finally! Now I have the power to create and render!

Wish I can go to Anime Expo this year, but I think I've outgrown it or has it outgrown me? I haven't been to a con in 5 years. NExt year I want to go with Raz possibly. One day. I really want to go cosplay with my boyfriend we'd be the perfect Kaname and Sosuke from Full Metal Panic!! ^_^ That's what we act like more or less in real life..except I don't hit him with a giant iron fan ^_^;.

Finally Done With Hugbot Mini

Deviant Art just changed all our profiles and avies to Twilight, Seeker, and Lady Gaga Avies. LOL..I Thought my account was hacked until I looked at my Watch.

After 3days late finished with the hugbot. ONly to submit the wrong pic into the finals...Screwed up royally. They should have made the language clearer that it was only one image in the first place!! And now because it's April Fools no one may take me seriously! I'm screwed anyway.

Just have to finish blocking in the gray scale and lights and darks and then overlay with color. Also details. THen put everything together in a pres. sheet. It's late, but I didn't want to quit this comppetition.

Hugbots 2D Mini Comp

The latest 2d Mini Comp for gameartisans.org. I've been injured and recovering from a disclocated collarbone and sore muscles. So I thought this minicomp would be a good warmup. I've learned some techniches like grayscale , color overlay and refining the silhouette or basic shape of the character. Still need to work on Wendy , she's not as important in the Contest, but I need to get her colors and right.

Hughes is the Hugbot Sport: he can be programmed to be coach, moral support and often Parental substitution. If you are a kid or athlete whose father or mother were to busy working to attend their sporting event;Hughes will be there for you. Wendy's father is CEO of the company that made the robot . The robot was repurposed from a failed Top Secret Military Project, they just switched out it's program to Kid Friendly and sports oriented. Hughes comes with different options, programming and paintjobs, and accessories for each sport. All Hughes units include pom poms, megaphones and personalized banners. Hughes main job is to give his athlete a hug and say "Great Job !" and I'm Proud of you!" as well as offer the tip of the day for the sport.

Current Projects

Somethings have had minor changes, such the Official gameartisians.org postponing Dominance War 5 and Unearthly Challenge until 2011.


1) Celtic Dragon Painting - In Estimate stages. Looking up Supply prices. This would be a 20"x30" painting done in acrylic and blacklight paint of a Celtic/fantsy style dragon a background. (freelance/paid). To be done before Dominance War.


2) Kuromaku project: doing concept art/ visual developement and some 3d modeling for an open sourced game with a team of colleagues. (unpaid/ for experience)

3) C-team: Concept art and portrait. (Personal)

4) Song Book: (paid) have to make song cue card book copy of the one I did previously with words and additional verse.

5) Moderating/hosting First MiniComp on [link] March 3-13th, Voting 13th-16th, winners revealed on St. Patty's day the 17th.

I'll still be after more work while doing these projects.

Feb. Update

My biplane WIP or "work in progress" sketch I'm learning how to draw and model planes. I fell in love with the colors, design and toylikes contours of this and the GeeBee.

I'm still alive, been trying to wrangle some work in between projects and family obligations.

1) I've been learning z-brush and all it's new plug-ins. Soon I have to Blender for regular modeling. Z-brush is so innovative.

2) I've just revamped my blog here.I added a new template and a banner(still sure how to format one on here ^^;) I've also added a feed the fish application on the bottom, just click to feed the fish and watch them go!

3)Also revamped is my portfolio I read an interesting article about how to present portfolios online and they said white or dark gray was the way to view work, for some people may have trouble seeing images in Black. Well I have trouble with white being to bright..and also I hate cold sterile white! I much prefer black backgrounds and white text for me, but I have to give change a chance.

4) My gallery at GA is has been redone as well.

Comic Con 2009 Results are out!

When I rolled out of bed this morning I didn't expect :
1) the results to be out
2) to win a Community Award on gameartisans.org
3) to get prizes. I get signed stuff from our judges: Todd McFarlane and Joe Madieura. (I confess I live under a rock...but I know what a certain someone is getting for their b-day! XD) I'm more of manga person so I guess this would be the equivalent of Tite Kubo -BLEACH and Yuu Watase-(fushigi Yuugi!)
4) Had fun with scudzalmighty defending our site from our rivals at polycount.org.










This is good start to the New Year. I'm glad to get some encouragement, I felt bad that I whined about not winning anything, but I got proven wrong. I'm dang proud to be be Game Artisan!

Improvement 2003-2009

This is going around DA, And it looked like fun. Whew! it was hard to find artwork before I got my computer, I had to return to my dusty sketchbooks to find some. Also I was really lazy to get stuff off my external HD , so everything here is approximate .

I noticed I went from Character sketches to Photoshop when I got my computer and scanner in 2004. I branched out into different medias during art school. I've learned to do more fully developed pieces . Now I'm almost 100% back to digital due to lack of privacy and space, my computer really is the only viable alternative along with my sketchbook.

So in 2010, I would like to relearn 3D modeling, textures and simple animation. Improve my fundamentals, revamp characters. Create a business plan, do more graphic Design.Revamp Comic and Children's book. I really wish for an Drafting table that can fit in my existing space.

Hoping this year is better than the last-2010

I have alot of hope for this year. Not all of it sucked..It was mostly a struggle to find myself as well as employment. Not only was I searching for a job, but a purpose or an artist/business/mission statement..what did I want do this year. I cloistered myself in my room watching the marathon of David Tennant's last episodes as Dr. Who on BBC America. During the more boring episodes I wrote down lists and lists of thoughts, resolutions, goals and questions I wanted to answer.

Career: I want a dayjob to pay bills. I want to work one getting freelance and permanent, Fulltime work in a Job that'll I love. Need to learn What I do want to specialize in because I'm such a dabbler.

As an Artist I want continue to master the fundamentals of 2-D and challenge myself to learn Blender and learn basic 3D modeling and animation. I want to enter the big Contests for 2-d and at least one or 2 & 3D comps or minis. I want to refine my portfolio and make it more proffessional.

As a person: I want to be a better one that is more actively involved and not shyly sitting on the sidelines waiting to be noticed. I want to say, "Put me in Coach, I'm ready to play." I want to be able not stay silent when something one of my friends says bothers me; I want to confront them about it. I want to able to forgive myself and others for things that happened in the past. I want to be defend my faith to the friends that make fun of them. I need to trust, forgive and be brave.

In Love: I'm on the fence about this. Undecided, but for now I'm not into dating until I get things squared away. Right now it hinges on what happens.

This past year has been a year of separation, reunion and forgivenss for me and I need to continue on my Journey to improve on my skills and personal growth.
