We're Finally Engaged!

Engaged to Alberto E. Amy-Cordero after 12 long and long distance years. Exchanging our rings at dinner in the hotel dining room. We're breaking all the the traditional conventions tonight. Even our rings aren't gold, yes silver tarnishes but like a real marriage can be worked at and polished until it sparkles as new. My ring is a sapphire and not a diamond. Doesn't it look like a magical girl's ring? Our rings were designed by Montana Jewelry Designer , Elichai Fowler of Elichai (formerly known as Paradise Ringworks). He uses US mined silver, Montana "friendly Mined or collected sapphires and he creates them into totally unique looking jewelry. Hoping to eat a gourmet meal tonight because we suffer from eating cafeteria food everyday, so to have real food is a treat up here in Yellowstone National Park. What I haven't written in a Year? Well I've been working here and at the Grand Canyon, with a breif stint at home, no art contests and no internet and I come back here with my finacee for a second season. It might be our last , but we want to move on to the next stage of our lives together before and after the wedding. Don't ask the date yet, because we don't know yet...let's just take this one step at a time. Hope to have some artwork to post soon in the mean time.

I wish I had more time to spend on the final, which when i get home I will fix this up for my portfolio. Hope I get to do Comic Con, but with the logistics probably not.(and prob. my luck too.) :(

Friday the 13th was 4 days late!

Beware Tuesday the 17th for this was my absolute badluck day . My comp crashes, no sleep and my gmail/phone account gets hacked by a spambot spamming everyone a link to a porn site. I think I have it back now, it would be too hard to delete it , but I have to talk to my resident IT expert my boyfriend. So hangtight until future notice I will be using Yahoo for a few days. My friend Todd just got his gmail hacked too.

Dominance War Entry

Still have a long way to go. This weekend, after another mural session,  I will finally get back to work on Samaya. I have to start on orthogonals or turn arounds for her final design. I'm still undecided on hair, but I'm thinking she was fine the way I drew her. She was really set in my mind.   I've just pushed trying to make hr more realistic rather than cartoony, but I like the cartoony better because it's easier. I really have limited reference.  After Orthos/ model sheet I will begin on my final composition.  There's 3.5 weeks left to go in the competition.

Ringling Reunion at EA in LA

Well Kim and I went LA for my college's reception at EA last night. We chatted with a few new friends who sat with us at the " cool table".  About an hour in a familiar face walked by the windows and into the door. I wanted to be sure I wasn't hallucinating. But she came up right up to me, hugged me and said " I made it to California!" , it was Ringling Roomate Christy. We we're roomies for my 3 years there in our luckily spacious condo on Whitaker Bayou. The condo is probably coveted now by students in less than newer dorm housing. It was home. And we we had the best landlady too. She would bring us little gifts and come visit us to check up on things.

We got some good grub catered to us. We watched the cartoons that the CA majors did last year. Some of which I've seen at Siggraph last Summer.  But the rest I can't tell you because EA will sic ninja lawyers on us. But I can say to my Boyfriend that they do develop games there..they do the Medal of Honor franchise and Mobile games. So there :p.

But we had an awesome time talking to our new friends Betty , Marylou, Logan, David , Lance and of course my roomie Christy.   Oh and I got some swag, a bumper sticker and a pin. I chose the purple and the green combo. 

DW5 Concept Goddess

This the character design I'm working on.   The first three pics is of. My maquette is all dressed up for her role of Samaya of the Sands of Time. A goddess for DW5 competition.  I repurpose things from around the house and make costumes, wigs and prop. This is the first time I have done a girl for the competition. They are much easier to draw for me and after 3 comps I needed to do another girl. 

I'm back in the Saddle Again.

I'm back from exile thanks to my Mom who helped me get a upgraded to a new phone. So I'm really happy to net again.   Well what has changed ?  Well I am going to be working this Summer. I took a risk after the long dry spell .   It's been a crazy few months, our mudslide, Revolutions in the middleeast and now Japan.  Oh andI actually sold out and got a facebook account to keep in touch with my family members. Although it was to give my family neighbors to play Farmville with...or at least I would when they get the Android app made.  
      On a sad note Esper's Mom passed away of Lung Cancer. It wasn't surprise of what she died of, but how suddenly she went out. We all hung out with her and her brother for the week .  We tried to have fun and only talk about it when necessary.  It was what she would have wanted to be happy she went home.
      I'm getting back to my volunteer projects after a hiatus. My neighbors never take day off, but they are never are two tired to look after me. I feel very blessed. I'm gettin back on the mural next week and I'm drawing a few cartoons for a story that my friends joked about in the car...it. sounded so fun and ridiculous. I thought we have to do this!
